It looks like the tide is turning in favor of “monster striker” Elling Holland (22-Man City).
On July 17 (local time), soccer and business portal Football Benchmark compiled a list of the most valuable players in the world in July 2023.
According to the publication’s own player valuation data, Holland’s price tag of €194 million (approximately $276 million) puts him ahead of Kylian Mbappe (24-Paris Saint-Germain) as the most expensive player. Mbappe was valued at €182 million ($259 million).
In his first season with City in 2022-2023, Holland tied the Premier League single-season record for goals in a season (36) and exploded for a total of 49 goals in 35 games, helping City to their first ever treble.
Mbappe, on the other hand, hasn’t won a major trophy outside of the French Ligue 1 since peaking at a young age with the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He scored 41 goals in a Paris Saint-Germain uniform last season.
Surprisingly, Mbappe is the oldest player in the top 10 of this list.
Vinicius Junior (23-Real Madrid) was third at €157 million, Jude Bellingham (20-Real Madrid) was fourth at €152 million, and Jamal Musalla (20-Bayern Munich) was fifth at €149 million. 토토
Gabi (18-Barcelona) is sixth on the list at €140 million, Xhaka (21-Arsenal) is seventh at €136 million, and Phil Foden (23-Manchester City) is eighth at €131 million, Pedri (20-Barcelona) in ninth place with €129 million, and Victor Osimhen (24-Napoli) in 10th place with €118 million.
Harry Kane (29-Tottenham), the “Son Heung-min partner,” is 36th on the list with €82 million ($11.6 billion). No South Korean players, including Son Heung-min (31-Tottenham) and Kim Min-jae (26-Napoli), made the top 50.
