Kim Jun-il has started a new chapter with the Hyundai Mobis.
Kim Jun-il signed a free agent contract with the Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in Ulsan in May. He started his career with Samsung, then LG, and now he’s taking on another challenge with Hyundai Mobis.
He has been focusing on rehabilitation and getting in shape, and recently joined the team’s training sessions to work with the players 메이저사이트.
“My 99s friends are doing a great job at training, and I’m learning the spirit of Hyundai Mobis by following the lead of (Ham) Ji-hoon, (Kim) Hyun-min, (Choi) Jin-soo, and (Jang) Jae-seok. When I finally came and trained with them, it was the opposite of the atmosphere I had heard rumors about before.(Laughs) The young players are training so brightly and everyone is working really hard. Thanks to that, I’m training well without much discomfort.”
Along with Ham Ji-hoon and Jang Jae-seok, Kim will lead Hyundai Mobis’ domestic big men.
“Actually, I just joined the team this week, so we haven’t had much time to play basketball together. When I saw them on the court, they played relaxed and smart, but when we trained together, I saw a lot of things that surprised me even though we were on the same team. I think I should be able to integrate well into Hyundai Mobis’ basketball because all of our big men have different styles.”
For Kim, the key to the new season is health.
“I was injured in my first game with LG, and I was injured in my last game. Coach Cho Dong-hyun told me that I can play as a starter or as a sixth man and get a lot of playing time. In fact, the last two years at LG have been very important for me in my basketball career. I learned about the struggles of the sixth man, the emotions of the sixth man, and the difficulty of playing. If I can give advice to the younger players of Hyundai Mobis, I would like to give advice and play a good role as a bridge between my older brothers and the younger players.”
