Gabe Vincent (26, 190 cm) has suffered a left ankle injury.
Vincent suffered the injury in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics at the Casilla Center on Thursday night. Vincent suffered the injury in the fourth quarter when he landed on his left ankle after picking up a loose ball. According to ESPN, head coach Erik Spoelstra hinted at Vincent’s absence after the team’s practice, saying, “He’s been going through team drills and he’s getting better as the day goes on, but I don’t think he’s going to be able to play tonight.”
Vincent has been on a roll since the start of the playoffs, averaging 17.5 points (57.9% FG), 2.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 34.8 minutes in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Most notably, Vincent has been the starting point guard in these playoffs and has been a key part of the offense. Miami has been using Vincent in the starting lineup since midseason to replace Kyle Lowry (37, 183 cm), who has been sidelined with a knee injury.
Vincent, who can play the point guard position, has been a big part of Miami’s offense as he has been involved in scoring as well as handling the ball. He’s an excellent shooter, with a nearly 50 percent three-point percentage in the series, so an injury to Vincent would be devastating for Miami. With Tyler Hiro (23, 196 cm) also out with a right hand injury, Vincent’s absence will disrupt Miami’s rotation (*Hiro’s return is still not on the timetable).
“There will be adjustments to the lineup,” Spoelstra said. We have a lot of depth. We have a lot of guys that have stepped up and that’s what we need tonight,” Spoelstra said of the lineup changes for Game 5. 토토사이트
Miami enters this round on a three-game winning streak before dropping Game 4 at home. However, the Heat still have the advantage in the series at 3-1. Boston, on the other hand, will be looking to keep the momentum going at home after launching a huge comeback in Game 4.
However, the NBA’s all-time record is weighing heavily on the Heat. Never before in NBA history has a team trailing 0-3 in a best-of-seven playoff series won four straight games and advanced to the next round. To find out if the Celtics will be the next team to add to that list and rewrite NBA history, tipoff for Game 5 is set for 9:30 a.m. at Boston’s home TD Garden.
