Tottenham Hotspur target Alessandro Bastoni is close to finalizing a new deal with Inter Milan.

Talented at a young age He came through the Atalanta youth ranks before heading to Inter Milan. In 2017, after only eight months in the Atalanta first team, the Nerazzurri spent a whopping €31.1 million on him. 메이저사이트

That’s a lot of money to spend on a prospect who was only 18 years old. However, Inter made the right choice.

Bastoni has lived up to expectations. After two loan spells, he returned to the Nerazzurri in top-flight form. He made 33 appearances in 2019-20, quickly establishing himself as a regular starter in 2020-21. He formed a solid center back line with Milan Skriniar and helped Inter Milan lift the Scudetto in 2020-21.

This is where the transfer rumors come in. Tottenham, looking to strengthen their center backs. Last summer, Antonio Conte wanted a left-footed center back who could build up play in order to find the perfect partner for Cristian Romero. Bastoni was one of the candidates. “Tottenham are monitoring Bastoni’s situation with a view to signing him,” according to English outlet Team Talk.

However, the deal never materialized. Instead, Spurs were forced to bring in Clément Langlais on loan from Barcelona.

Of course, the potential deal wasn’t completely off the table. With only one year left on Bastoni’s Inter Milan contract, there was still a chance that Spurs could approach him again.

However, even that possibility has recently faded. Bastoni himself has announced that he will re-sign with Inter. According to leading Italian journalist Niccolo Skira, he said, “I hope to stay at Inter Milan. I’m very happy to be here. I’m close to signing a contract extension. We are finalizing it.” The contract will reportedly run until 2028 and is expected to be finalized at a salary of €5 million.
